Andrey Terekhov, Lanit-Tercom CEO, named top IT manager of the year
Lanit-Tercom (part of the LANIT group of companies) CEO Professor Andrey Terekhov headed up the group of IT company managers in St. Petersburg listed in 2015 Top Managers of the Year, a list compiled by Kommersant St. Petersburg.
Kommersant analysts grilled industry correspondents, St. Petersburg city administrators, and business associates to come up with the nominees for the Top Manager of the Year honor. A secret ballot revealed which directors of IT companies in the northwest they thought provided the most value to their companies in 2015.
Lanit-Tercom CEO Andrey Terekhov: “A company’s success is a reflection of more than just good management; it also points to the talent, hard work, and professionalism of its employees. People—professionals—are the key resource in the IT industry. Beyond my work as Lanit-Tercom CEO, I head up the system programming department at St. Petersburg State University, and I have students working at just about all the IT companies in St. Petersburg. We like to joke at Lanit-Tercom that most of our employees are my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Obviously, we are talking about my students, their students, and so on, and it could be that idea of working in one big family that has kept us going through these difficult times as we work on tough, knowledge-intensive projects for major Russian and foreign clients.”
Andrey Terekhov also thanked his fellow association members who voted for him. “I’m flattered to receive such high praise, especially given that I consider many of my colleagues equally deserving of the honor. We all do what we do to make our country a better place.”
